Developing and strengthening SOEs practitioners on the continent is one of the primary objectives of the Network. The areas of capacity development training will be identified through targeted reviews conducted in Member States.

The African SOEs Network undertakes research work that addresses unique challenges the SOEs is faced with in Africa. The Network also serves as a platform to disseminate knowledge products that include academic and policy papers on the SOEs sector in Africa. In addition, research publications of partnering institutions will be shared.

SOEs Targeted Review

SOEs Targeted Review

The purpose of the SOEs Targeted Review is to provide African Countries with an independent, credible and legitimate analyses of a specific challenges pertaining to the corporate governance of SOEs. The objective of the Review is to serve as diagnostic tool that examines and identifies policy gaps in corporate governance of SOEs. The review further makes recommendations for the SOEs sector reform in the relevant country.

The SOEs Network on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises (the African SOEs Network) is a platform for government representatives, State-Owned Enterprises, related agencies and other relevant non-governmental stakeholders from African member states to facilitate policy dialogue on SOEs ownership and corporate governance practices, to share and exchange experiences, identify good practices and develop recommendations for effective reforms to improve and strengthen corporate governance of SOEs in Africa.
